Sarah Watson, LMSW
Therapist
I believe that healing takes place in relationship. Our relationship as therapist and client, where you feel truly seen and heard, is a powerful place for this healing to begin. I aim to see you, wherever you are, in your pain, in your loneliness, in your joy, and in your fear. Together, we will explore these parts, giving them the attention and care they need as we move closer to your truth.
I have experience working with people on a wide range of issues: anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, attachment work, sexuality, and just feeling "stuck". I am passionate about acknowledging the impacts of varying forms of intersectional oppression you may be experiencing, with a particular emphasis on supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals. I use a relational psychodynamic approach, and often incorporate somatic techniques to engage our bodies and the knowing they hold.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of New York, and am also involved in research at NYU on the topics of mental health access and care. I have been an educator for over a decade, and am always learning and growing as a clinician so that I can best support you in your work. I welcome a call or email from you when the time is right!
