Mary Brimmer, LMSW
Therapist
I believe we are always in a state of emergence- coming into our own and exploring the who, what, where, when, why and how of our being and our relationships. In my therapeutic practice, I aim to support your process of understanding, accepting and shaping your life and alleviating symptoms. I specialize in working with individuals looking to improve their relationship to themselves or others. This includes but not limited to those who are coping with trauma, stress, depression or anxiety and are looking to build their skills and self-esteem.
Our relationship as therapist and client grows and evolves during our time together with a focus on your personal goals towards growth. I value getting to know you and what elements may help to foster a therapeutic space for you.
I have experience working around stress management, anxiety, depression, the parent and child relationship, chronic health conditions, exploring their identity and/or undergoing life changes.
I earned my Masters in Social Work at the University of Albany’s School of Social Welfare and my Bachelor’s in Sociology from Skidmore College. My main focus includes psychoanalytical psychotherapy with integration of elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness techniques.
I am currently accepting new clients for telehealth or in-person therapy sessions at our location in Saugerties. Please reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation where I can answer any questions you may have.
