Lilly Kaplan, LMSW
Therapist
I work with individuals and couples/multi-partner relationships to help navigate the complexities, contradictions, beauty, and pain of the human experience. In therapy, I bring warmth, empathy, and humor, and I’m unafraid to challenge and sit in discomfort. My goal is to create an environment where folks can reconnect with their existing power, recognize resilience, and build the trust in these resources to support psychological growth, emotional healing, and a greater capacity to face the world.
My approach is psychodynamic and relational, working to bring subconscious patterns into the light. I specialize in providing affirming and supporting care to queer, trans, and gender-expansive clients. I am rooted in social justice and draw from trauma-informed, queer, feminist, and anti-racist frameworks. I support clients navigating identity questions, relationship challenges, life transitions, and healing from trauma or abuse. I use a harm reduction approach to substance use, which means abstinence isn’t the only path to healing.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. I invite curiosity, feedback, and openness as we discover what feels most supportive for you. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, so I draw on multiple ways of working, engaging mind and body while considering the broader social and cultural forces that shape us. Together, we create a space that feels safe, meaningful, and uniquely suited to your needs.
